Artists at Retextil
Fásiné Balázs Ágnes: “I’m very happy to be part of the ArtCycling project. In my time, waste belonged to the trashbox. Now they helped me to see how many things can be made out of waste materials! Children are another generation already, for them it is natural and they see it themselves that trash can contain magic. I’m before retirement, I have a child, I live with my partner. I have high-school degree”.
Nekina Józsefné Erzsébet: “I’m interested in the creative process, in making handcrafted objects. I’m looking for things on the internet, I also create the ones I like. After grammar school I went to economical school for 3 years”.
Jandó Tünde: “I’m 48 years old. I have lived in a civil partnership for 8 years. I studied to become a leather-chloth maker. I was always interested in creative making. I watched a lot on the internet, I tried out many of them. I like to crochet, to embroider, to knit in my freetime, I also like to do gardening. I collect the trash in a recycling bin, I use power saving light bulbs”.
Balogh Csabáné Rita: “I live with my partner in Pécs. I was born here in Pécs in 1972. 08. 16. Previously, I haven’t met recycled materials in my work, I saw this here in Retextil for the first time. I really like ArtCycling project, I’m happy to be part of it. I worked in the catering industry. Natural materials have a bigger inpact on me. In the ArtCycling project I liked the leather workshop especially. In the future I will be happy to participate. My highest degree is grammar school, but I have been involved with a lot of things. I live in a romantic relationship”.
Jánosits Gyöngyi: “I was born in 1965.07.06. I graduated in highschool. I have been a florist for 20 years. I like my profession, it is also my hobby, I also taught it for several years. I worked in the trade business and in catering for many years. I really like art and creativity. I can’t even imagine a different activity for myself. I like to know and learn new handcrafts. I started to work at the Retextil Foundation with great ambitions and enhusiasm. I’m interested in everything new, everything design, everything in what one needs to be created. I like to work with all kinds of materials from stone to textile and rubber. In my imagination I already composed the new knowledge we learnt with flowers, I imagined very exciting, beautiful compositions. I also really like music, animals and plants. My big hobby is farming for the love of the animals. I’m single, I live with my grown up child in our small family house. I spend a lot of time with my animals, the plants of my garden, because beside the love they give they inspire me with a lot of new ideas. I feel good at my workplace, I enjoy to create and see the recycled objects all around”.
Kisfalvi Bernadett: “I am scrupulous, I really like to work in this community. The ArtCycling community develops my creativity. I feel good in this team. I live with my life partner, sadly I don’t have a child yet. I have several professions: social-, child- and youthcare administrator, dental assistant. I’m thankful that I can develop my creativity here. I’m 30 years old. My hobby is to crochet at home”.
Hofeckerné Bublik Rita: “I’m the mother of two grown up child. In my work and in my life I tried out many things from office work through commercialism to work with recycled materials. I had experience in the possibilities of fabric materials, the confection style, the work with pine wood, the sell of jewellery. I was always interested and was happy to meet new possibilities, the ‘what can we make out of it?’ always occupied me. We live in a family house, where even though on a small area, but do bio-farming with the help of raised flower beds. We made garden furniture and vineyard covers from pallets, even a small garden lake made of a satellite dish. I like possibilities given by nature, I have lots of sculptures made of rugose, wooden roots hiding among the flowers. My relationship with retextil has opened my eyes to another dimension, which i haven’t even thought about before, and i find it a wonderful example worthy of following. I take part in the ArtCycling project with great enthusiasm, i think it is great that I can learn such techniques I haven’t even heared of (e.g.: bicycle inner tubes) and that fate brought a lot of great people who can present this knowledge to me”.
Bánhalmi Ildikó: “I’m 47 years old lady, my partner tolerates me so far (two people in one household). We have two tiny dogs, they bring happiness into our daily life. Creating always inspired me and now the origin of the material is an extra pleasure for me. Kiss!”.

Baloghné Bodor Márta: “Retextil Foundation is my workplace, where besides many other things I make jewellery out of buttons. In the ArtCycling project there is a lot of challenge, for example we make different objects (gifts, toys, decoration, jewellery) out of materials we would otherwise throw out. I like to do this, there is a lot of new challenge in it and by this I can learn to create different things and objects! It’s been a pleasure for me to take part in the project, I hope I can learn even more new things. Creativity is the essence and I have the feeling that I have it inside me”.
Bércesné Hajdú Ildikó: “I’m 58 years old, citizen of Pécs. I am married, I have two children – a son and a daughter. We live in a house with a garden, so I spend much time with gardening. I like it when things are clean and orderly around me and in the world around us, so we collect the trash separately, we water the garden with rainwater and we don’t use any chemical spray on the plants. In wintertime we like to make handcrafts with my daughter – we create candleholders out of painted glasses, we stitch beads and I refashion my old clothes into something new, something else”.
Várady Józsefné Zsuzsanna: “My name is Várady Józsefné, my maiden name is Zsuzsanna Gulyás. I have a son, he is 30 years old. I am a leather maker, we use this knowledge in my workplace. I like to knit, to crochet, to stitch beads, usually I make angels and bunnies. With the crochet technique I make christmas tree decorations (crocheted angels, snowflakes). Now I try the basket for easter. I like to learn new things. We learned to make spinning out of leather. It was interesting, I made a bracelet. We made objects out of bicycle tube. It was also interesting to make things out of plastic (it is possible to make articles for personal use). I would like to learn lace making also”.
